Hey everyone! First of all, thank you for joining me on my new blog. If you’ve followed me at all over the past few years, you probably know that I’ve been writing with Odyssey. However, now that I’ve graduated and moved out of Troy, Alabama, I figured it was time for me to enter the blogosphere and launch my own website.
If you have no idea who the heck I am and you just found my blog now, welcome!
I should probably introduce myself. My name is Madison Linnihan and I’m a 24-year-old ballerina/travel writer/social media manager living on the Florida panhandle. I like to say I’m from Wisconsin because it’s a lot simpler than going into depth on all the places I’ve lived, but I’ve lived in California, Colorado, Illinois, Wisconsin, New York, and Alabama. The main things you probably need to know about me is that I’m obsessed with anything chocolate, I can usually be found either in the dance studio or at the beach, and I honestly really just love to write.
This blog is pretty much going to have a little bit of everything.
On my homepage, you can find my latest blog posts in addition to some of my favorite Odyssey articles (the ones I own the rights to, of course). While I may have a few random blog posts here and there, I mainly want to focus this website on my faith, friendships, fashion, dance, life, and travel. However, despite the fact that I am a travel writer by profession, I typically only write travel articles for tourists about the place I already live, so sorry if the travel section is a little heavy on Florida material.
I named my blog Authentically Linni for a couple reasons.
The first reason is that authenticity is one of my core values and I think it can be challenging to be raw and authentic on the internet in this day of age. I often find it difficult to be transparent and vulnerable, but writing is one of the ways I allow myself to open up to others. I know people don’t want to read about perfection, so I’m going to be as real as possible with you on here. Additionally, I chose to add ‘Linni’ to the name instead of Madison because I know about 2,890 other Madisons out there. A lot of my friends just call me Linnihan, since aside from my family, I’ve never met another Linnihan, and they shorten it to Linni sometimes.
